As anticipation builds for the wedding of pop superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the New York Police Department (NYPD) is leaning into the pop culture moment with a playful social media post filled with references to the singer’s hit songs.

In a video shared from outside Madison Square Garden, Chief Timothy Beaudette delivered a string of Swift-inspired one-liners.

“I heard you calling on the megaphone,” Beaudette says in one clip before adding, “You need to calm down,” a nod to Swift’s 2019 hit.

The footage also included references to the songs”I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Cruel Summer,” and “Welcome to New York,” with Beaudette also jokingly telling viewers, “Why you gotta be so mean?”

The lighthearted post quickly gained traction online ahead of the couple’s expected wedding celebration on Friday.

The NYPD has maintained a visible presence around the iconic Manhattan venue leading up to the highly-anticipated nuptials, but officials have repeatedly declined to discuss operational details surrounding the event.

Swift and Kelce, whose relationship has captivated fans since they began dating in 2023, are expected to draw thousands of onlookers and significant security as celebrities and guests arrive for the wedding celebration.
