An unhinged woman pepper-sprayed an elderly man in the face during a clash over an accidental bump on a Bronx train last week, cops and sources said Wednesday.
The 70-year-old victim was riding a northbound No. 5 train at the East 180th Street station around 2:50 p.m. Jan. 7 when he and the aggressive passenger accidentally bumped into each other, authorities said.
The straphanger – seen wearing large glasses and headphones over a black beanie in pictures released by the NYPD – then flipped out and sprayed the substance into the senior’s face, police said.
The victim suffered pain and redness, but refused medical attention at the scene, while the assailant got away, authorities said.
The NYPD released a photo Tuesday night of the wanted suspect, describing her as a woman with a dark complexion, approximately 5-foot-2 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a navy-blue jacket, a black sweater, blue pants, and a black hat.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
