Eight individuals, in all, were taken into custody after allegedly climbing lampposts and getting a little out of hand during the impromptu party over the Knicks’ win near Madison Square Garden, at the corner of West 34th Street and 7th Avenue.

Five people were issued court summonses, while three others were arrested and criminally charged, sources familiar with the case said.

Thousands of people had reveled at the Midtown location when, at about 11:30 p.m. on June 3, an ambulance from Northwell Health, while responding to an emergency, attempted to make its way through the crowd gathered in the street. Police say the throng of fans would not move.

Video circulating on social media shows fans posing in front of the stopped ambulance, its lights activated and siren blaring, before one man scaled it and jumped up and down on its roof.

Members of the crowd also appeared to pound on the ambulance’s windows as others scaled the hood. Police were spotted tackling one man, during an altercation that injured an NYPD chief.

Sources familiar with the incident reported that Deputy Chief Timothy Beaudette, a veteran cop often deployed to oversee protests, was attacked while attempting to cuff a 26-year-old man who resisted arrest. The unnamed suspect flailed his arms, striking Beaudette in the face and knocking him to the ground.

Despite suffering pain in the nose and legs, sources said, Beaudette was able to subdue the perpetrator and place him in cuffs. The unnamed fan was charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct.

At the same time, another 26-year-old was also arrested for jumping on the ambulance. This man was also cuffed for resisting arrest, criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct after the ambulance suffered shattered windows, broken antennas, and damage to the roof.

Finally, about 15 minutes later, a 22-year-old was arrested for obstructing the ambulance as it tried to move through the crowd with its lights and sirens. He was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct.
