A 14-year-old boy was struck in the head by a brick that fell from a Queens building facade on Saturday, police said.
The piece of masonry fell from the building’s awning area, striking the teen around 12:08 p.m. near 82nd St. and Roosevelt Ave. in Jackson Heights, according to the FDNY.
The teen was taken to Elmhurst Hospital by EMS, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
Although cops described the falling debris as a brick, other news reports said it was a larger piece or ornamentation from the building’s facade. In a video from the scene, one reporter hefted up a pyramid-shaped piece of a masonry nearly the size of a bowling ball, saying it was what came crashing down on the youth’s head.
It was unclear what caused the debris to fall.
