STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 35-year-old unlicensed driver was sentenced to a year in jail after a series of alleged drunken driving crashes and a police chase that included ramming NYPD vehicles.

Bryant Bullock of Cassidy Place in West Brighton was charged on May 6, nearly six months after authorities allege that he fled from the scene of a chase that began on Nov. 16, 2025, around 8 p.m. in Graniteville.

The criminal complaint alleges that Bullock was behind the wheel of a 2024 white Ram 2500 that had been parked in a fire zone in a parking lot for about 40 minutes. He then drove the pickup truck away and was spotted by police in the vicinity of Forest Avenue and Sanders Street.

Officers activated lights and sirens in an attempt to pull over the pickup truck. The criminal complaint alleges that Bullock did not comply and instead continued driving the Ram. The defendant allegedly ran through a red light, nearly striking a marked patrol car that was stopped directly in front of the defendant’s vehicle.

The pickup truck traveled about two blocks when it stopped at a red light. Multiple officers approached the pickup and asked Bullock to turn off the engine and leave his vehicle, according to the criminal complaint.

The criminal complaint alleges that Bullock instead drove forward into a vehicle driven by an individual. The defendant reversed the pickup truck and collided with a marked patrol car.

Bullock smashed his pickup into additional vehicles and forced multiple officers to jump out of the way to avoid being struck, according to the criminal complaint and police.

The criminal complaint alleges that Bullock used his pickup truck to push a patrol car out of his way and did not stop to share identification and insurance information with police or civilian victims.

While being pursued by police cars, Bullock allegedly exceeded the 25 mph speed limit as his pickup blasted through multiple red lights and swerved between lanes of traffic along Forest Avenue. Drivers had to brake in order to avoid colliding with the pickup truck, according to the criminal complaint.

He was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, bail jumping in a previous arrest, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, unlawful fleeing a police officer and violations that included aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a motor vehicle license violation and leaving the scene of property damage.

Bullock, whose name also is spelled Bollock in public records, pleaded guilty in state Supreme Court in St. George to reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class-D felony, and was sentenced to six months in jail to run consecutively alongside other sentences.

Drunken crashes

The criminal complaint alleges that Bullock was responsible for alcohol-fueled crashes in Travis and Mariners Harbor.

He allegedly was drunk and armed with a knife when his blue 2023 Fisker Ocean collided with another vehicle on Feb. 15, 2025, around 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Avenue near Edward Curry Avenue.

EMS and police responded to the crash.

The criminal complaint alleges that Bullock had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot and watery eyes and was unsteady on his feet. The defendant refused to take a breathalyzer test.

The defendant flailed and tensed his arms in an attempt to avoid being handcuffed.

The criminal complaint alleges that officers found a kitchen knife in his pants pocket.

Bullock was charged with violations that included driving while under the influence of alcohol with a previous conviction within 10 years, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, no license, driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest.

Refusal to take a breathalyzer test triggers an automatic driver’s license revocation for at least one year.

Bullock pleaded guilty in Supreme Court to driving while intoxicated, a class-E felony, with six months in jail to run consecutively with the felony plea for the November crash. He agreed to a $2,000 fine and installation of an ignition interlock device for one year, a one-year license revocation, participation in a Victim Impact Panel and Impaired Driver Program.

Bullock was arrested on Jan. 11, 2025, around 12:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Richmond Terrace near Andros Avenue.

The criminal complaint alleges that Bullock was the driver of a 2021 white Ford Transit that was involved in a crash at that location. The defendant had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and bloodshot and watery eyes. His speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet, swaying as he tried to balance.

The defendant refused to take a breathalyzer test.

He was charged with violations that included driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired by alcohol, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no license.

Bullock pleaded guilty in state Criminal Court in St. George to driving while intoxicated, a class-A misdemeanor, and was awaiting sentencing at the time of his Supreme Court pleas. He was sentenced in Criminal Court to 30 days in jail to run concurrently with the one year in jail.
